Automated Meter Reading (AMR)

Flint Hills RECA uses an automated meter reading system to read its electric meters.  This system uses our electrical lines to carry a communication signal to our meters. This communication link allows for a computer and the meter to “talk” to each other.

Each meter is read everyday.  The feedback from the meter tells us how many kilowatt hours were used each day.  This information can be very beneficial in helping consumers determine their daily usage and setting up plans for energy conservation.

The readings used for your monthly bill are collected shortly after midnight on the first day of each month.  This will give you a true month to month usage on your electrical bill.
